Houghton-Mifflin/ICUC First-Year Chemistry Award

Selection Criteria for 2007-2008

The Awards Committee of the ICUC and Houghton Mifflin Company are proud to announce the Fifth Annual HM/ICUC Awards for Excellence in First-Year Undergraduate Chemistry, given to one student per ICUC member school each year.

As in past years, the student you choose for the award will receive a letter of congratulations from the ICUC, along with a certificate acknowledging the award with signatures from a representative of Houghton Mifflin, the ICUC, and you.

Your winner will receive a Houghton Mifflin Organic Chemistry textbook. The selection of the outstanding student is the responsibility of the ICUC member(s), but input from other members of the institution is encouraged. Your winner should be in, or have recently completed, his or her second semester (or third quarter) of first-year chemistry.

If you wish to select runners-up for the award, we will be pleased to print additional certificates that indicate “finalist” on them (or other term that you would like.)

Deadline: All award nominations must be received by May 9, 2008. We will certainly accommodate you if you are not able to get your information by then.

Please Send the name of the applicant (and any runners-up) via e-mail to:
